Incorrect Move-Out Balance, Dishonest Business Practices, and non-responsive Customer Service at Greystar

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Incorrect Move-Out Balance, Dishonest Business Practices, and non-responsive Customer Service at...

I am currently unemployed and legally classified as homeless. The lack of response from Greystar is causing unnecessary stress and detracting from the time I could be using to secure employment.

I have been incorrectly charged for my move-out balance with Greystar.

I was initially informed that I would receive a refund of $66.45, which was accompanied by a PDF showing my balance and ledger. However, my account now incorrectly states that I owe $723.39. A former manager at the complex, Sam Blake, who no longer works there, left an incorrect charge of $834.74 on my account for carpet damage, without providing any invoice.

Despite multiple calls and emails to the accounts receivable department, a specific employee in that department, and Pay Ready, I have not received a single response or helpful update from Greystar Corporate, Pay Ready, or Accounts Receivable.

The only Greystar employees who have been helpful in this matter are Courtney Westervelt and Rachael Dinka.

Greystar has violated my lease agreement by attempting to charge me for the repair costs for the entire unit without considering the year I lived there. The only damage was in the guest bedroom, while the master bedroom was in pristine condition.

The only itemized documentation I received from Greystar stated the carpet damage was $177.80. The origin of the $834.74 charge remains unclear.

I want to reiterate that I am only responsible for the replacement of the guest room carpet, as specified in our lease agreement. The carpet in the master bedroom is in almost new condition, and according to our lease, I am not liable for its replacement (if it was replaced...

there's no proof to justify the $834.74 charges).

Despite all of this, my account still reflects the incorrect balance. I expect this to be rectified immediately.

Need help with my lease

Greystar - Need help with my lease

We just moved in and I found out my kids school bus would not show up in this current location, I have to travel to work at 8.00am to 5.00pm. They start school at 9.30am to 3.50pm at Lynnwood Elementary School.

My kid is also getting special help as well there, we cannot switch their school. Prior to moving I had asked if our school was in the same district they had said yes, now they are saying even with the same district, another school is near. We cannot provide bus, I am really stressed out, I brought this to front office one gentlemen was understanding and another was not helpful. I just got the keys yesterday.

I really am looking to work something out. Please help us

Unfortunately they are not required to provide transportation if that is not the elementary school for your area.

Unsatisfied with my Unit

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

We just moved in less then 40 hours. I have rented for three years now, it was the first time i didn't get the feeling of a home.

I know we chose this apartment, we saw three different units hard to remember exactly which unit. I was expecting them to atleast clean the place before going in. But nothing is cleaned at al, Mirror has stains that look like Mold, Balcony covers are all sticky, and there is a weird smell like the previous owner was a smoker. Also on top of that, Toilet seat is size of someone 5 who would use it, Toilet is very small.

Also, found three bugs on the first day. This was not the type of welcome we were expecting. Previous places, Unit i stayed at have been cleaned and safe for us. I didn't get this feeling at all.

I was really looking forward to moving here after searching for home for a week. This was closer to my kids school as well, so we thought it would be perfect. I brought up the situation with Front office.

All they said is you chose the place. Even if i chose the place, it should be presented and be clean for us to live in.

Pulled money from my account and made my bank charge me fees. I still had to pay my full rent up front with 236.00 late fees

I have been with flex and like it. I do not h see stand why this month I had to resubmit. This caused me 236.09 in late fees. Very bad for my finances. Please explain and put the money you deducted back in my account so I do not get additional fees. Thank you

65 days and still no part of my security deposit back as promised

Horrible!

Original review Jan 12, 2024
Management and account payable at Newbergh ATL keep telling me to be patient. I asked them what is Greystars policy on the time frame to return security deposits and no response to my question so Im hoping to get a response from corporate.

Why is it taking so long to give me my security deposit? Its been 65 days since I moved out of unit 215 and 10 days since I was told they will make an adjustment for a gesture of better customer service but as of this morning no refund. Im not sure if they treat all their past (always paid on time) tenants this way or maybe to only certain minority tenants or if they are only treating me this way.

Based on the Georgia Landlord Tenant Act, I should have received my security deposit back within 30 days of move out. Yet its been 65 days now.

the leasing agents can't even put in your rent payments, if you complain about repairs that do get done they will retaliate, everything goes to management which impossible to deal with if they don't like you the will stop accepting your rent even violate housing laws and kick you out. Lack of concern, excessive fees, no support as a resident

My car was still in right after they took over management of the property and they did nothing to assist. They denied us access to the video in the garage for the sheriffs department. They are very quick to file eviction if youre just days late, just so they can charge you court fees and late fees And they have an attorney that doesnt present all the fact to the judge. North Carolina had a class action lawsuit against them, which there was a judgment for the residence who were victimized. Stay away from properties, managed by Greystar.

End of Lease Charges

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Moved in to apartment in Blacksburg for college. Apartment was not cleaned or ready. It took 6 of us, renters and parents, 4 hours to clean the apartment. At the end of the lease, Greystar billed me another $248 dollars for cleaning fee. I disputed this to them. They sent me right to collections. They WILL have extra charges at the end of your lease. What a disaster.

I'm going through that now. My daughter stayed at 1016 Strock St.

Filthy move in condition. Charging us $248 in cleaning fees and the same amount to her 2 roommates. We requested a detailed bill of the charges and they sent her right to collections with Genesis/Columbia Debt Recovery.

We just sent a dispute to the collection agency and will be sending a second demand letter to Greystar. Next, we will be taking them to court.

Need a copy of my previous rental payments, no one is answering my calls

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I'm in a building in Denver that used to be owned by Greystar. Another building bought the property and closed of all of our access to our previous resident portal. I'm now trying to buy a house, and the bank wants me to verify my rent payments. But I can't get anyone from Greystar to answer the phone, and I can't get a copy of my records! This is going to affect my loan with the bank, and it's a simple request. I just need someone to call me back!

Harassment by Greystar employees/ CEO

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Original review Nov 15, 2023
This building is Section 8 housing and is riddled with crime, elderly people beaten up in the elevators, lawsuits, crime perpetrated by the leasing office employees (and releatives that reside there- Shels friends) and the Concierge desk that harasses residents. Cars spray painted, residents physically attacked all the time, employees stealing from storage units (and then NDA agreements to hide it all)...the reviews are all employees. The CEO of Greystar is well aware and looks the other way.what a great guy.

Unfit management

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

A false allegation was made against me and my service dog. I've never had so many problems in my life. Past 90 days *** I've had to isolate in my apartment because of this false allegation.

Each day is continued trauma I don't know this individuals history? I'm not sure what he's capable of doing. Except he was able to fabricate a story that my dog bit him?

style="background-color:

Interesting especially since my dog is muzzled, at all times. I've had to quarantine my dog for 10 days specifically because of this individual .

style="background-color:

style="background-color: Animal control was called five times by this individual. Property manager assisted in fabricating this lie, and I live in fear.

style="background-color:

My granddaughter couldn't even attend school and had to be placed with family member until this is resolved.

Now I can't move because apparently I have an unfavorable rental history?

I have family and I'll get relocated. I'm fortunate.

But what about the next person?

Trust me if your given any type of eviction? You won't come out on top. Management won't rescind there allegation against you.

Now apparently I've committed a criminal act?

It's a nightmare and Greystar is a bigger nightmare.

My advice don't walk RUN!

Wow you have some mental health issues that even a service dog would steer clear from!

Guest

What reasons was animal control called five times? Also, how is a service dog muzzled at all times? Aren’t they trained to perform certain tasks related to your disability?

Guest

I'm not sure how disabled and slow service is part of what I was referring to. However what I am referring to is that their most definitely is a management problem and on top of that management problem you have regional managers and Senior partners that are part of the problem too because why? They don't have a solution.
